Hi and welcome to this review of Canon`s new Powershot SD4000is digital camera.
This pocket size camera was designed for enhancing low light photos with a 10 mega pixel back illuminated CMOS sensor and Digic 4 processor.
So we can safely say this camera is pointing to the market of young stylish party goers fast acting pull out your bag,or out your pocket photography and video capture at 720p HD movies.
This camera offers the same range as the old S90 but in low light mode eliminates the noise when taking pictures in dark areas and night time pictures and video that the S90 suffered from in the past.
This new SD4000is camera also has many features so its not just a party goers camera it an all round camera for day time shot and HD video recording with 4 gig memory card allows one hour of video so i think this camera can easily be taken on holiday and serve you well
as a point and shoot.
There is another feature i think that could interest you super slow motion
video that records at 340x240 movies at 240fps.
So not special feature but effective all the more.
This is done by a 2.5 mega pixels sub cellphone lense.
Now lets look at some more features in depth.
Low Light Dark Nights:
This is Canon more advanced digital Elphin to date.
with a 10MP backlit CMOS sensor with wide F/2.0 aperture
this means the hole on the sensor opens up the bigger the hole the
more light gets sucked in to the sensor and this camera has a bigger hole than
most point and shoot and its range is F/2.0 to F/8.0 aperture but this causes
a shallow depth of field.
No More Noisy Late Nights:
The Canon backlit CMOS sensor has effectively eliminated noise
from filming in low light.
Noise means the processing of the sensors image when in darkness its
processor goes a wire and try to fill in the darkness itself and that makes noise.
Miniature mode/Fish eye effect:
This feature is designed to take close up pictures and give
it a Fisheye effect so taking photos of insects and small objects.
Auto mode:
The canon SD4000is doesn't have a manual mode but has a auto mode
that are easy to control at the back of the camera with a play button and
menu button also a slide dial that moves through the options of choice
displayed on your 3 inch LCD screen in live view mode.
Colour accent/colour swap:
In colour accent and colour swap you can take great pictures by lowering the
colour but not to black and white i like this feature myself.
Video mode: Video mode is filmed in HD at 720p mode great in all lights
daytime, evening, night time with good picture quality filmed in MOV H264T
Liniear PCM stereo and a 4x zoom lense.
